Brexit, or No Brexit; no thank you.

For nearly three years now Britain is obsessed by the discussions about Brexit.

As a Dutch national, living in England I have a vested interest. Nonetheless, have stayed neutral for strongly feel that folk are entitled to their own opinion and am horrified by the division this subject has brought to the surface.

About two months ago my stance changed. The reason for this was that I started to understand better the dirty psychological tricks played by some strategist in the Leave camp. These tricks influenced the outcome of the 2016 Referendum. I also started to understand better the pertinent lies the general public were told to influence their opinion.Currently, there seems to be an assault on democracy, with the Government seemingly willing to even ignore new legislation to push through Brexit. The tensions in the country are such that democracy is at stake.

The Government seems hellbent on leaving the EU by the 31st of October come what may.

My frustration and anger are now ebbing away. Not because my resolve has been broken. Not that. I have simply come to the conclusion that politics is a game for fools. One refuses for politicians to influence my otherwise interesting and meaningful life.

Even if life is effectively meaningless and the world is absurd one should never allow others to spoil what can be beautiful.

So, leave politics to the politicians. Let them play the fool.
