My grandson and peace on earth

My grandson and peace on earth

My beautiful grandson (if you have one yourself, he is as beautiful as yours) will be two next week. He has an amazing smile, you know one of those that makes your heart melt.

This afternoon I had a little nap after a long and refreshing walk.

The dream that came was a dream of dreams. In it I was carrying my grandson to all the great conflicts in the world and we stopped. My grandson did what he does best and smiled at the conflicting parties. Every conflict stopped.

We had great fun and agreed that if conflicts flare up again we go and travel and smile. If life was just a dream.

Look forward in anger, maybe?

Look forward in anger, maybe?

There is so much to be critical about right now that one wonders how to start ventilating frustration.

Clearly things in this beautiful world are not quite as they should be, whatever side of the fence you are. We should not have a side of the  fence perhaps.

One can rant and rave about what is wrong and be pessimistic about the future, and to be fair this is not unreasonable. But, does it help?

Every human is essentially the same. Whether you like it or not.

This human is frustrated with the mess created by us. Strange species, us humans.

Funny lot.

Come on, let’s stop the madness and embrace life and humanity.

Be serious.

The darkening enlighted

The darkening enlighted

Charles and Claire live in a handsome Georgian townhouse in Dorset, England, and they feel that on the whole life is not bad at all. And it is not for them personally. They are contented with their lot.

Claire is enjoying her early retirement and has embarked on a number of activities to keep herself not only occupied, but, as she put it, give meaning to her days, try and live life to the full. Help others and coach people badminton, teach adults to read are only some of her many activities.

Charles still works part-time in the finance department of a local food producing factory. He has had his career in the City and is no longer interested whatsorever to work in that kind of environment. He fills part of his spare time with writing, reading, walking and the odd game of golf.

Together they share a passion for walking, go out for a meal and visit the family and many friends they love deeply. Another shared interst is travelling and staying at their caravan in Somerset, another pretty county these isles are full with.

So, life is good for they have a lovely family and great friends but the skies have been darkening of late for the world is changing rapidly. This is where this little story started, and the question they ask themselves is where it will end.

The world is divided and there is massive change going on in the USA, and also the uncertainty of Britain leaving the European Union. There is now a cocktail of uncertainties and current affairs that makes any normal human being feel somewhat apprehensive about the future.

Claire and Charles have grownup children and are lucky enough to have the enjoyment of lively, happy grandchildren. But now some worry has started to set in.for their future is at stake. The world is in turmoil, with potential conflicts just around the corner. There is poverty and climate change one worries about.

The hatred being created towards people coming from another country, with perhaps another religion. The reckless games being played by politicians mosttly concerned with their own small interests, their own ego. It is all weighing on our couple.

What to do? Just go on with life and try to be merry, or put all energy towards protecting their family and other loved ones. Embrace the future, whatever may come?

A darkeing has started but Claire and Charles are determined to look at the sun and let the shadow fall behind them. Enlightment embraced.

Spiritual Revolution

Spiritual Revolution

With the state of humankind as it is we can do a number of things.

We can make more war, despair, be divisive for what ever reason we care for, or perhaps do something totally different.

No, the writer is not a guru, do not worry about all that. Gurus are not for me, well not as in more interesting, or clever than any other human being.

The spiritual revolution has more to do with accepting that we do not know anything anymore about what to do next.

I do not know about you, but I do not know what to do next with this world. What I do know is, that what we have done to it, and to each other, is not very pretty.

So, the conclusion is that, perhaps, since we do not know, even if we think we do, we need a spiritual revolution. Well, the writer needs one, because does not know what else can be done.

We cannot go on creating conflict. We cannot go on allowing poverty. We cannot go on destroying our planet. This is perhaps all I do know. Perhaps you know more and can help me.

Or, we can help one and another.

We need to be more intelligent.

Spiritual Revolution. Dialogue

POTUS

POTUS

The best news today is the fact that the race to vote the next President of the USA comes to an end. Well one hopes so anyway. There is not so much to say about this since too much words have already been spoken.

The race has been a tragedy, an insult to humanity. For this we should be grateful as it teaches us that radical change is needed. We humans need to change to enable a better society. Politics does not work, war does not work. We know what does not work so why do we carry on, making more mess. Why do we not care?

The most significant notion is how devised us humans are. Surely, we are all responsible for that. The question is how we can unite.

Race, religion, sex, country of birth; it does not matter, should not matter. But it does, for we fear. We know we do not know.

Whomever is the next POTUS does not matter for it will not bring the change humanity as a whole, or you as a person need. Humans need an inner revolution to change themselves and thus society.

It is hard work, but worth to try and create real hope.

Diversity? Yes, please!

Diversity? Yes, please!

If there is something disturbing going on in the world right now, it is division. The us and them, the black and white, the Muslim and the Christian. People seem to be willing to slaughter what is different from who they are. You are a Democrat, a Communist, a Republican and so on. Whatever you are seems to be better than what the other is.

Now one would argue this is nothing new and that is right. But stating that and just to  shrug one’s shoulders is all too easy. The question to ask is why do we not accept, even celebrate diversity. Why do we have this fear of the unknown, because that’s what it mostly is.

Something to ponder.
