Now, we all know that the world wide web is not a safe place to be at all. Nothing new and for those that protect themselves, and hopefully others not a big deal.
Whilst I like to be able to communicate with the world at large, fantasies in my brain tell me what further cyber attacks could create. Havoc, sheer disaster.
Luckily I do not write fantasy for my old brain does not work like that.
Romantic musings spring more to mind at this moment in time. Thinking about the days one just had a fountain pen and a piece of paper to communicate with. My pen was my ‘weapon’.
I still write a thousand or more words per day with one of my beloved fountain pens. It is a great craft, held very dearly indeed.
Perhaps we should all just go back to that. I would write you a nice letter.
I have not been blogging for some time now and the simple reason has been that there has been too much other writing going on and also other also things happening in life.
One has to take stock sometimes and decide which way to move with things. I have had to figure out what purpose writing should have. What drives me on, what gets me out of bed, and decide to write.
To keep it simple it is just for the love of life that I write. With this comes however that the writer has serious concern about the state this world is on. Concerns about the more vulnerable, children and also social injustice.
I am not really interested in politics at all, but am in the consequences. Whilst being positive provocative am not interested in trying to upset or divide people. The contrary is true and much rather find ways to make people connect and communicate.
Anyway, for the forseeable future the writings will about that and can either be fictional or non-fictional.
I do hope to connect and communicate with fellow writers for the love of life!
With the state of humankind as it is we can do a number of things.
We can make more war, despair, be divisive for what ever reason we care for, or perhaps do something totally different.
No, the writer is not a guru, do not worry about all that. Gurus are not for me, well not as in more interesting, or clever than any other human being.
The spiritual revolution has more to do with accepting that we do not know anything anymore about what to do next.
I do not know about you, but I do not know what to do next with this world. What I do know is, that what we have done to it, and to each other, is not very pretty.
So, the conclusion is that, perhaps, since we do not know, even if we think we do, we need a spiritual revolution. Well, the writer needs one, because does not know what else can be done.
We cannot go on creating conflict. We cannot go on allowing poverty. We cannot go on destroying our planet. This is perhaps all I do know. Perhaps you know more and can help me.
Or, we can help one and another.
We need to be more intelligent.
Spiritual Revolution. Dialogue
People talk and write a lot about what writing is all about, or why they do write themselves. A lot can be said about the subject indeed.
Writing is simply a way to communicate. Whatever form you give to your writing, it is your way to find a way of communicating.
The advice to myself is to keep it simple, to not be pretentious, but to try and write so others can understand it. This however difficult the subject might be. Simple is often difficult but it has become my aim.
Why use words that are seldom used. To impress, to show people how clever you are? My view is that clear, well written language is both beautiful and important. If you really want to communicate that is.
War and Peace? Not for me. Diarrhoea of words, to say it not very elegant. Yes, impressive enough.
Writing to communicate, to connect, is what I am after. My struggle is about putting into words that what we perhaps all struggle to put into words.
Is it not nice. No television on, not even music, soothing or not.Nothing to distract from a little bit of writing.
Silence, a great friend, brings calm to the tired brain. Adorable state of mind. Life is so loud nowadays. My brain cannot cope with the noise continuously coming its way.
I want to be very load about proclaiming that we need more silence.
I am confused a lot lately for there are so many things I do not understand. There are lovely friends and family, there is this beautiful part of the world I am lucky enough to live. Have enough money, reasonable health and seemingly endless opportunities to do something positive, something truly constructive with life. Still, there is confusion.
Take the election of the next president of the USA, the rather embarrassing shambles that has worked out to be. How can this help the world forward?
Take the ongoing horrific fighting in Syria, so many innocent people killed. For what? What is humanity about?
Take what happens in Britain with Brexit. What is that all about? A grotesque spectacle, all ill-founded. Not improving any body’s life.
Take what happens with ongoing poverty all over the world, and with humans not really tackling climate change. Confusing.
The one thing I am not confused about is the actual fact that I am confused.
